After 3 rounds of the second qualifier for the 2017 Digicel National chess finals, they are four players who are in the joint lead on two and a half points from a possible three.
These four players include Kemp Lynch, Jerome Harewood, Mark Lowe and Justin Parsons.
In round 3 action, Parsons and Jerome Harewood battled to bruising draw, Lynch played well to defeat Jerome’s twin sibling Jakeel, while Lowe defeated ladies champion Katrina Blackman with some witty play in the end – game. These players now sit half of a point ahead of Jakeel and International master Terry Farley. Farley entered the tournament a round down, but has managed to win all his games so far, his latest victory against Jonathan Shepherd.
Other noted results in the round saw victories for Richard Haddock, Taiye Estwick, Shaquan Jones and Emar Edwards.
The featured games of the next round will see Jerome Harewood with the white pieces against Kemp Lynch and Mark Lowe against Justin Parsons.
